Terms & Conditions
FOOD AND BEVERAGE ARRANGEMENTS
Menu selections are to be submitted to Mona Lisa at least 10 days prior to your function to ensure availability of menu items.
All food and beverage in the licensed banquet rooms must be supplied by Mona Lisa Ristorante. The only exceptions to this rule are specialty dessert items which must be purchased from a licensed bakery, and a $2.00 per person plating fee will apply. Any other external catering that is authorized on the premises will be prepared by a licensed Food Handler, in a licensed approved commercial kitchen. Any food being brought into the Mona Lisa will be subject to a signed release of responsibility, waiving Mona Lisa Ristorante of any liability for illness or like, from food not prepared or served under the control of our Chef. We typically prepare more food than is required for presentation purposes, therefore as per health and safety precautions, all food left over must remain at Mona Lisa.
All prices are guaranteed for thirty (30) days unless agreed to in writing on Banquet Event Order or Contract. All food and beverage pricing is subject to change.
Gratuity of 20% is computed on rental charge and on the total of all food and beverage sales. Provincial Sales Tax (PST) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) are applicable as regulated.
Mona Lisa must be advised in writing as to the guaranteed number of guests no later than 12:00pm, four (4) working business days before the function. The client will be charged according to the guaranteed number of guests or the number of guests served, whichever is greater. In the event that the client does not communicate a final guarantee 4 business days prior to the function, the last written communication of expected number of guests will be considered the final number.
Mona Lisa will allow a reduction in the expected number of guests by 25% up to 7 business days prior to the function. Should the expected number be reduced by more than 25% a $10.00 per person charge will be applied for the difference. No Shows will result in 100% of the contracted charges being invoiced.
Deposits/Event Payments / Cancellations
Depending on the size of the function, a deposit of $250.00 or $1000.00 (non-refundable) is required at the time of booking the space. A credit card is needed at the time of booking and may be kept on file for incidentals.
Should a client cancel their event, they will forfeit their deposit and pay the cancellation charges as listed:
30 days prior to the event = 25% of estimated charges
14 days prior to the event = 50% of estimated charges
7 days prior to the event = 100% of estimated charges
Events payments and scheduling of such are the responsibility of the client. An additional deposit of 50% of the total estimated charges will be required 2 weeks prior to the function date.
The remaining balance is due at the end of the function. Payments can be made via cash, credit card or certified cheque made to Mona Lisa Ristorante.
After 30 days the account will be considered past due and is subject to additional late payment fees.
Room Arrangements, Inspection & Liability
Mona Lisa reserves the right to inspect and control all private functions. Mona Lisa assumes no responsibility for any material/equipment belonging to the client that is lost, stolen or damaged. The client is held liable for all persons associated with the function, and any damages or losses to property or such, will be billed to the client. To avoid damage to the walls we do not allow the use of tape or tacks.
Conference and banquet rooms are assigned according to the expected number of guests. Mona Lisa reserves the right to re-assign rooms based on your guaranteed number. Should the need arise Mona Lisa reserves the right to relocate your function(s) to another room(s). We will make every effort to contact you in advance, should this be the case. Any major changes to the original room set up as requested and stated on the contract will be subject to additional charges.
Starting and ending times of all functions are to be adhered to. The space is only booked for the time indicated. Set-up and dismantle times are to be specified at the time of booking. Personal effects must be removed from the banquet room(s) at the end of each function unless prior arrangements have been made with Mona Lisa and cannot accept items more the 48 hours prior to the start of any function.
